Ex-karter Kačírek Jr in ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy move

Petr Kačírek Jr, an ex-kart racer turned second-generation rally driver, is making the move to the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy in 2026 – backed up by a host of established Czech competitors.

The 19-year-old, whose father Petr Kačírek Sr has made three starts at FIA European Rally Championship and remains active behind the wheel, has joined forces with experienced co-driver Ladislav Kučera for his next motorsport adventure.

“For the last two years I have been learning the rally craft from Petr Černohorský and Jan Černý and at the end of last year I already tested in three races that I can move up a category, to an Rally3 car,” said Kačírek Jr. “It is a big change compared to the Peugeot 208 R2, but I got used to the Fiesta Rally3 quickly and I really enjoy the car and we are friends together.

“The main programme this year will be Europe, the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, where I will be a complete novice, but I am really looking forward to it, it will be a completely different world than the Czech stages, although as part of training and preparation, I will try to drive our very high-quality Czech championship too. If everything goes well, I have been promised a reward of starting with the Fiesta R5 in the Czech Rallysprint Series, which will be something fantastic if I can combine it with other races.”

Kačírek Jr, a student in his native Prague when he’s not competing, will be run by Duck Racing during his ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy campaign.

The series, which is run by M-Sport Poland in conjunction with WRC Promoter GmbH and supported by Pirelli and Warter Fuels, is contested over five rounds. It starts with 43rd Andalusia Rally – Sierra Morena – Córdoba World Heritage Site from 17 – 19 April and concludes on Barum Czech Rally Zlín, Kačírek Jr’s home event, from 14 – 16 August.

A Ford Fiesta Rally2 prize drive on JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion is up for grabs for the winner.
